Conflict Gauge: Iran, W18, 26 Apr to 2 May

Archive edition, built October 2026 on the record as held. Data as of 26 Oct 2026.

Events recorded: 2,113, down 35% on the prior four-week median (3,272).

• Escalation days: 0.

• Busiest theatre: Israel, 673 events.

• Suez: 38.7 transits a day, against a median of 43.0 over the four weeks before. Transits are the daily count of container ships, bulk carriers, general cargo ships, ro-ro ships and tankers, with no size threshold, tracked by satellite as they cross the chokepoint, each ship counted once per crossing (IMF PortWatch); Lloyd's List counts only cargo vessels over 10,000 dwt, so its figures differ.
